Marked by significant achievements that demonstrate sustained growth, the Port of Huntsville’s fiscal year 2025 is on record as one of our most successful years to date. With an unwavering focus on this commitment, the Port of Huntsville completed $61 million in construction projects this year. These included a $14 million renovation of concourse elevators and escalators, improving accessibility for all passengers and adding breach-control exit lanes; a $9.8 million rehabilitation of Taxiway Whiskey; and a $5.7 million expansion and renovation of concourse restrooms. In addition, we began a $17 million project to construct a new, much-needed Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) facility. Additional investment will enhance the safety and security of our facilities and encourage airlines to expand air service in our community. This ensures that our customers enjoy the highest quality experience possible, whether as commercial air passengers or as business partners operating within our borders.

The airlines are taking notice of the tremendous potential within our 18-county service region. In response, this past year brought new routes, larger aircraft, and increased flight frequency to Huntsville International Airport. Our four carriers—American Airlines, Breeze Airways, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines—significantly expanded their service to our market this year, boosting capacity by 8.5% over the previous year and offering more than two million seats in total.

Passengers responded enthusiastically, breaking all previous monthly and annual records, as total traffic rose 6.3% over 2024. Among the year’s standout achievements was Delta’s introduction of nonstop service to New York City’s LaGuardia Airport, an addition our community has welcomed with great enthusiasm.

While global fluctuations in import and export markets created challenges for businesses worldwide, our Inland Port demonstrated resilience and adaptability. The Port of Huntsville International Intermodal Center delivered tailored logistics solutions unmatched by larger, more congested hubs. When customers required midstream adjustments, our capacity to store containers and cargo for up to ten days at no cost to them provided the type of flexibility and convenience our partners value most.

With more than 59 years rooted in this community, the Port of Huntsville continues to build on a proud legacy of achievement. Our progress is reflected not only in numbers but also in the daily impact our operations have on the broader region’s economic development and quality of life.

It is with great pride that we present this annual report, a testament to our team’s dedication, resilience, and success. As we look to the future, we remain focused on advancing this momentum to foster continued economic growth, innovation, and job creation for both our local and global communities.
